Having high control helps learn Bows, Crossbows, and Throwing quicker and increasing the learning limit. If you plan to play a ranged playstyle, this will make you more accurate. Control is one of the Attributes in Mount & Blade II Bannerlord. Skills determine how fast you can learn certain skills.

The numbers can be seen in the party screen, and are usually: 1 - infantry. 2 - archers. 3 - cavalry. 4 - mtd archers. 0 - everybody. You can also set what division soldiers are under in the party screen, with the formation banner next to name. I don't see a formation banner next to my name in the party screen. Or next to the units name. Or anywhere. Can someone screenshot and circle said banner on the party screen? I don't see it. Edit: Found it. x.x
Config. There is a config located in your Documents/Mount and Blade II Bannerlord/Configs/Mods/. PartyScreenEnhancements.xml is used for saving your selected upgrade paths, sorters, and other selected preferences. All of the settings saved there can be changed in-game using the settings interface.
