Clean the surface behind the keyboard, including the circuit board and any key connectors, with alcohol-soaked cotton balls until completely clean. Use the toothbrush to dislodge any crud around the connectors. Use a cloth to gently clean the keys, making sure to wring out the cloth frequently. Rinse and dry the keys.
